ESL

ESL stands for English as a Second Language. It provides instruction in basic, conversational English for those who want to learn.

In 2007, MBC began a partnership with Woodford County Adult Education to provide ESL and GED classes in Midway. WCAE provides a professional instructor, and we provide volunteers for one-on-one tutoring, a place to meet, and free childcare to anyone who wants to learn English. Computer equipment is also available.

Our ESL, GED, and Adult Literacy programs meet in the Ministry Center of Midway Baptist Church starting around 6:00 PM. If you're interested in participating in any of these programs as a student or volunteer contact the church office or see Cody Davidson. All courses are in English. You do not have to know another language to serve as a tutor.

GED

GED stands for General Equivalent Diploma. It is an educational program for adults who never completed high school, but now want to get their diploma.

Didn't finish your degree? It's never too late! Let us help? Did finish? Then help someone else!

Family Literacy

Closely related to ESL, Family Literacy is a program for families of school-aged children. This focus is on educating the whole family, specifically to help parents communicate with their school teachers and educators to help their children achieve and excel in school.
